How to take a beautiful picture with your Umeshu

Why don`t you take a beautiful Umeshu picture?

In this blog, we would like to give a little tip for photographing Umeshu.

  • Get creative with the little things to take beautiful pictures of Umeshu!

When taking pictures of food and drinks, it is important to capture the imagination of how delicious they look. In such cases, the small things that come in handy are the accessories that are included in the photo.

There are many ideas for small items, such as vegetables and fruits themselves, stylish paper napkins, small bottles, flowers, luncheon mats, and so on. Among them, putting something related to Umeshu (for example, actually placing a citrus fruit near Umeshu) or a transparent bottle can completely change the impression of the photo.

You can also try to include small items on the table that you think are fashionable in the picture corner.

  • Backlighting is recommended.

As for light, backlighting is basically recommended, unless you are doing a tight-fitting proof photo or something!Backlighting should not be so strong that it darkens Umeshu.

When the soft, weak light is coming from the back of Umeshu, you get a picture that looks good!

Even if the light is not backlit, we recommend light coming from behind (semi-backlit) or from the side at an angle. If the light is coming from directly in front, Umeshu will be clear, but the photo itself will look bland.

As for the reflector, you don’t need one, but it is useful if the light coming in from behind Umeshu is too strong and creates a pitch-black shadow on the front side of Umeshu.

  • Photograph Umeshu bottles from a little distance with a telephoto lens

Have you ever had the problem that when you photographed a bottle of Umeshu, the bottle was distorted? Cameras have a tendency to distort the subject when you take a close-up photo at a wide angle. Especially since smartphone cameras have wide-angle lenses, Umeshu bottles tend to be distorted.

To take beautiful pictures of Umeshu as you see it, move about 1m to 1.5m away and zoom in to take the picture.

Simply not moving the camera too close to the bottle can also reduce distortion.

Umeshu is a beautiful drink not only in taste but also in appearance. Please refer to the above and try to take stylish photos of Umeshu!
